Important Letter to Parents

Dear Parents:

It has c ome to my attention that some parents in our community are frustrated and feel school personnel did not listen to their concerns properly, and that we really didn't care about those concerns.  I would like to say that nothing could be further from the truth.  I would like to publicly apologize to those parents and tell them that in no way, was that my intention.  I know that when I say that I love this community and its children, that I am speaking for all of the staff at Amargosa Schools.  The relationship between the school and the community in Amargosa has been, and continues to be close and caring.

When we became aware of the feelings that some of the members of our community had, we reached out to encourage parents to come to one of the parent meetings at the school, so that we could address their questions.  Some parents came to the meetings and we did a much better job of listening and answering their questions.

For those who have taken advantage of one of our parent meetings, we thank you. If you have not returned for a meeting, we ask that you consider doing so.   We are committed to continuing to hold parent meetings regularly.  We would love to have you come so that we can adequately address your questions.  I promise that we will listen, and take the time to hear what you have to say.  It is our desire to do everything necessary to correct the issue brought to our attention.

Thank you for the opportunity to work with your student.  My hope is that we can move forward and have a working relationship with you for the benefit of our students.

Chris W. Brockman, Principal
