Training in two parts...
The IEP Empowerment Training is designed to equip parents and students with knowledge and skills needed to effectely navigate the Individualized Education Process. This training focuses on empowering parents and students to become confident, informed advocates for students with special needs.
Part 1: October 3rd, 5:30-7:30, Mt. Charleston Elementary School.
Part 2: October 16, 5:30-7:30, Mt Charleston Elementary School.

Just a heads up that any inquiry slips for AstroCamp (the very first paper given to students) returned from this point will be added to a waitlist. We are currently at capacity for our contract.
Any families who filled out the inquiry slip but have since changed their mind and decided not to send your student, please let me know so we can give those spots to other students who wish to attend. Again, you can email me at cmurphy@nyeschools.org

The roads around the Bursen Ranch area are being reslurried, so our busses cannot get the normal stop in the area. While the streets are being reslurried, these are the stop changes:
RCMS/PVHS -Route 19 - Mickey & Squaw stop is moved to Manse and Squaw
Floyd - Route 21 - Mickey & Squaw stop is moved to Manse and Squaw

AstroCamp offical dates are in!
We had about 50 students return the interest form and we were able to secure a spot in March from the 14-16. The original plan was to have it in May but unfortunately, there were no openings at that time.
For anyone who responded as interested, next week your student will bring home a form that will need to be filled out and returned at your earliest convenience.
The $65 deposit will be due by October 4th.
For those setting up a payment plan, After the initial $65 deposit, you will be making 5 payments of $55.
These payments will be due on the last full school day of each month leading up to the camp:
October 31st
November 22nd
December 18th
January 31st
February 28th
We will need a total of 4 chaperones and luckily we had so many offer! Priority will be given to individuals who are already CPR/First Aid certified and have been vetted by the district. The cost per chaperone is $170. I will reach out personally to those being offered the spot by the end of next week.
