School Closure Update

Dear Amargosa Valley School Parents:

Due to the recent spike in new Covid-19 cases in the valley, as well as to the delay in receiving the covid testing results for some of our staff, we intend to continue with our Learning at a Distance model of Education next week.  Out of an abundance of caution, we believe that maintaining our face-to-face closure next week is the prudent and responsible thing to do to ensure student, staff, and community health and safety.

Please ensure that your students are accessing their teachers' Canvas sites so they can get their assignments and live-streaming learning activities' times and expectations.  Also, please have your students check in with their teachers regularly through email, phone, or Canvas messaging, as well as to do all of their assignments to get attendance and academic credit next week.

Monday we will be dropping off meals at the designated drop sites and at the times given in our message last week.  Please look for additional messages about meal drop-offs for the rest of the week.

Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and efforts to keep our Amargosa educational community healthy and safe.

Sincerely,
Chuck Fannin, Amargosa Valley Principal
