Amargosa Valley Schools Covid Update – September 21, 2021
AVS Parents and Guardians,
In an effort to provide as much information as possible regarding illness at AVS, and specifically information on Covid and how it is impacting our students, staff, and school, we are sharing this current update.
Between today and yesterday, three staff members tested positive for Covid-19. One of those staff was in our Pre-K class. Therefore, this entire class will need to quarantine until Monday, September 27. We have a handful of students who are still under quarantine for different periods of time due to their exposure to Covid-positive individuals. We are encouraging you to make sure that if your son/s and/or daughter/s are showing two or more symptoms of Covid to keep them home and have them tested for the virus.
We are almost to the point of considering a temporary mask mandate to help control the spread of Covid at our school. We will inform you in a timely manner if we make that decision.

En un esfuerzo por brindar la mayor cantidad de información posible sobre enfermedades en AVS, y específicamente información sobre Covid y cómo está afectando a nuestros estudiantes, personal y escuela, estamos compartiendo esta actualización actual.
Entre hoy y ayer, tres miembros del personal dieron positivo por Covid-19. Uno de esos miembros del personal estaba en nuestra clase de Pre-K. Por lo tanto, toda esta clase deberá estar en cuarentena hasta el lunes 27 de septiembre. Tenemos un puñado de estudiantes que todavía están en cuarentena durante diferentes períodos de tiempo debido a su exposición a personas positivas para Covid. Lo alentamos a que se asegure de que, si su hijo (s) y / o hija (s) muestran dos o más síntomas de Covid, los mantenga en casa y se les haga una prueba del virus.
Estamos casi al punto de considerar un mandato de máscara temporal para ayudar a controlar la propagación de Covid en nuestra escuela. Le informaremos de manera oportuna si tomamos esa decisión.
